Introduction to the Cold War.
The Cold War is a weird war; the thing is the Cold War was not really a war. A war, most of the times, is with weapons and machinery with the intention of killing each other.
The Cold War is mostly between the United States of America (U.S.A.) and the Soviet Union (USSR), these countries were really big and had a lot of influence in the world. The differences between these countries are mostly the way they rule their people, which you are going to learn more about later on. At some point in time these enemies actually had their weapons turned towards each other, but luckily for the world it did not get to a point where there really was a war.
During the Cold War a lot of things happened, we had the Vietnam War, the invention of nuclear weapons, the founding of NATO and the CIA and other things. Especially the nuclear weapons is something we still use today in our modern wars.

Assignment 01: Timeline
During the lessons there are a lot of time periods that are important for the Cold War. Your first assingment is to make a timeline with all the important events on it. Every lesson you can add the parts to the timeline that are missing. For this assingment you need to fill in the timeline, you either print it out or add the events with a paint program such as photoshop.
The first thing you are going to put on your timeline is the end of the Second World War; the end of this war is basically the start of the Cold War and that is why it is important for our lessons.
The Cold War went on for years it started after the Second World War in 1945 and it lasted until 1991 with the fall of the Soviet Union. During this time different wars broke out all over the world and you are going to learn something about these wars as well.
